Friends Of Jawbone Meeting Minutes Friends of Jawbone meeting 6/18/2003 9 a.m. Present where: Ed Waldheim, Paul Kober , David Moore and Bill Ingram BLM , Bill Abeqle, BLM Volunteers, Eric Hurtao, California City Police, Keith Axelson, Sageland Ranch, Mary Lou Priest, Assemblyman Bill Maze office. Rick Price and Bob Slade Kern County Sheriff, Iru Moskovitz and Jonathan Ames, Los Angeles Police Department Air Support, Robin Mallow, Office Manager Friends of Jawbone, James Welling Field Representative to Kern County Supervisor don Maben, John Bergum, Volunteer Fox Airport, Craig Beck, BLM Recreation Chief Meeting called to order by Ed Waldheim. Minutes noted by Ed Waldheim as being on-line. Approved. Treasurer’s report: Approved. Bob Kline is not available but Ed has typical bills, including 3 bills for staffing. Deposit of $13,599 (Kern County sent us the money); our total grant was for $15,000. The total in checking account is $22,476.00. We still have to write a check for $6,000 to finish the map. Graphics Printing: newsletter bill. We will take these bills to Bob for payment; we must meet with him. Financial statement: 5/31/03; passed out today. We need to know how much money we have for each of the grants. We also have a savings account separate from the checking account and do not have the exact total, however the overall total is $31,703.92, according to the balance sheet. $38,000 grants for Sperry Wash; haven’t gotten bill yet. Our general liability premium is $1,191.50; do we want to approve it? We can use grant money to pay this bill. I recommend we keep the liability. Paul Kober moved that we keep the liability. Keith seconded the motion. Passed. We also have to pay Wright Color for the printing of the post cards. The amount is $138 plus $15 for the set-up. Total: $153.72. Motion to approve payment? Robin moved we pay it; Kober seconded. Passed. Jawbone newsletter: Only paying members will receive this newsletter. We must always put our website on every piece of material we put out. Our membership, according to Robin, is at 50 paying members. Vice President’s Report: Pictures are available of the bridge that is in Kelso Valley. Correspondence: None? Jawbone map is available. Take a look, especially law enforcement, for changes and additions. We will be adding Boron, the museums. Ed has checked out all of the phone numbers on the reverse of the map and many do not exist so we will be changing those numbers.
