2010 Halloween & OHV Safety Party

Gather your family of ghouls and goblins and join us on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Jawbone Station for the 2nd Annual Friends of Jawbone Halloween Party. The event will focus on OHV safety awareness and will feature a special performance from the world-famous Sundance Dog Team, a frightful demonstration by rattlesnake handler Henry Lundsford, and a family-fun Poker Run.

More than 200 volunteers descended on Jawbone Station Saturday, April 24, 2010, to help clean up public lands in the Jawbone Canyon, Lone Tree Canyon and Dove Springs areas of Eastern Kern County, according to Ed Waldheim, Friends of Jawbone President.

Moose Anderson Days 2010

 Saturday April 24th will be occupied with clean-up projects, 50/50 drawing and door prizes, raffle for the 2000 watt Honda Generator (model EU2000i donated by Honda) displays & demonstrations. Sunday, April 25th join us for a 4X4 tour or an Off Road Poker Run. The 4X4 tour takes you and your family to the local site-seeing locations throughout Jawbone Canyon Area. The Off Road Poker Run is a fundraiser consisting of a 30-40 mile fun ride on your motorcycle, ATV, or other off-highway vehicles. Multiple hands can be purchased to increase chances of a win.

Preliminary OHV Grant 2010 Public Review/Comments

Friends of Jawbone (FOJ) a nonprofit organization, with a cooperative Agreement with the Bureau of Land Management's Ridgecrest Field Office, invites you to review and comment on the 2010 applications we have submitted to the California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR), Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division (OHMVR).  The public review and comment period will run from Tuesday, March 2 through Monday, April 5.

2009 Halloween & OHV Safety Party Recap

 On Saturday October 31, the BLM Ridgecrest Field Office and the Friends of Jawbone hosted the first annual Safety Awareness Kick Off and Halloween Party at Jawbone Station. The theme of the event was to “Gear Up for Safety: Accidents Don't Need an Appointment!"

Just over 100 guests at Jawbone Station came to learn from the many agency representatives and take part in the day’s activities.
