For specific information on camping in USFS areas, contact the nearest office,\u00a0or visit the National Forest Service website at: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/fs.usda.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fs.usda.gov<\/a><\/em> or visit: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/fs.usda.gov\/sequoia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fs.usda.gov\/sequoia<\/a><\/em>, the Sequoia National Forest website. You can make campground reservations using the National Recreation Reservation System at (877) 444-6777 or visit: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/recreation.gov\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">recreation.gov.<\/a><\/em><\/p><p>Except where prohibited, back country camping is allowed one mile away from a developed area, paved road, or \u201cday use only\u201d area. Camp only in previously disturbed areas, and park your vehicle close to the roadway to minimize impact. Back country campsites must be more than 100 yards from any water source to protect these fragile areas for wildlife use.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-95c6251 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"95c6251\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Campfires<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eab1602 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eab1602\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Regulations governing campfires are specific to each National Forest and can change with weather conditions and the seasons. To protect yourself and the forest, before each visit, check with the Forest Service for current campfire restrictions.<\/p><p>Open fires\u2014including stoves\u2014may be banned completely during periods of high fire danger. Outside of existing campfire rings, please use a metal fire pan. Firewood collection is restricted to downed and dead materials. Always \u201cDrown, Stir and Feel\u201d to ensure any fire is completely out. Contact local agency offices for further fire information.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fa7c541 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"fa7c541\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Hunting and Shooting<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b592506 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b592506\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>RULES &amp; REGULATIONS<\/strong><br \/>Before operating a firearm, make sure that you are in a legal area, and it is safe to shoot. Pick up ALL targets, cartridges, and other trash before leaving.<\/p><p>All state laws regarding hunting, including the possession of valid state hunting license, are in effect on public lands. Hunting opportunities exist for migratory birds, upland game, fur-bearing mammals, and big game,<br \/>except where prohibited by state or local laws, or posted otherwise. Although hunting is allowed, target shooting\u00a0is prohibited in Wilderness Areas. Questions regarding these opportunities should be directed to the local land management field office. For information on hunting or fishing regulations, call the California Department of Fish and Wildlife at (916) 445-0411 or visit: <em><a href=\"https:\/\/wildlife.ca.gov.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wildlife.ca.gov.<\/a><\/em><\/p><p><strong>ON FEDERAL LANDS (BLM AND USFS)<\/strong><br \/>The shooting or discharge of firearms is generally permitted on USFS and BLM-managed lands unless posted otherwise, as long as such activity is permitted by state and local\u00a0laws. Shooters are prohibited from destroying any natural features, including rock formations and plants. All targets and cartridges must be cleaned up and removed from public lands. A firearm may not be discharged within 150 yards of any developed area.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b5b7465 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b5b7465\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Domestic Animals<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3041932 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3041932\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Pets are welcome on USFS land, but it is best to keep them on leash as they may chase after prey and get lost. Small dogs can fall victim to coyotes, raptors, or mountain lions. Please clean up after your pet. Leaving a pet in a vehicle or trailer can be dangerous or fatal in warm temperatures.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6df03de elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"6df03de\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Wilderness<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3c119ac elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3c119ac\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Motorized vehicles, motorized equipment, or any other form of mechanical transport, are prohibited in all wilderness areas.
