Harts Place
This property began its life as a product of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s “New Deal” as a trading post and meeting place for miners and travelers. Harts Place burned to the ground in the 1950s and was never rebuilt. In 2017, Friends of Jawbone purchased the Harts Place property to establish a permanent connection between the OHV route networks of the Jawbone area and the El Paso Mountains that straddle both sides of Highway 14. Now, Harts Place exists as another important gateway to the trails we all know and enjoy.
You can find this Discovery Point via GPS at N35.5008, W117.9490, or in section I-9 with the Jawbone Canyon OHV Map.
